Skyborne Opportunity

The Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing and delivering a fully integrated bespoke marketing strategy for each academy location, raising the market presence of Skyborne across all media channels worldwide, while maintaining brand identity.

This key role is integral to conveying the correct messaging to Skyborne’s B2B and B2C markets to ensure we are considered the Training Organization of choice. Innovation and creative thinking are a must to ensure that Skyborne appeals to a wider audience and is differentiated through quality, safety and professionalism.

The successful candidate must be able to work across global markets to communicate key business messages to target audiences through a range of platforms and channels, whilst leading an effective remote team who work in synergy with each other. Highly experienced in digital marketing and automation, with a proven track record in the creation of B2B and B2C multi-channel marketing campaigns that have delivered commercial value. 

As Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and take them on a journey to deliver marketing excellence.   • Implementation of the brand strategy ensuring a strong, consistent brand image is portrayed at all times.
  • Developing and implementing a global and academy specific marketing strategy for new and existing courses - including campaigns, events, social media, PR and paid digital activity.
  • Initiating, developing and nurturing relationships with new and existing partners and networks to maximize efforts.
  • Developing and delivering bespoke social media strategies across a range of existing platforms while researching new social media opportunities to support business priorities, in-depth understanding of performance and reporting. 
  • Working closely with the company’s sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing appropriate tools, materials and presentations.
  • Set marketing related key performance indicators by channel, partner and/or campaign. Ensuring they are effectively implemented and achieved through monthly KPI reporting.
  • Develop key relationships with third party suppliers – including design, digital and, PR agency contacts and airline clients.
  • Managing, organizing and participating in key events to include trade events, open days, graduation events, airline visits, airline forums and university visits in line with plans and business goals.
  • Strong creative input into asset and content creation, including website and ensure brand guidelines are adhered to and realized in all marketing communications.
  • Leading market research and competitor analysis to determine requirements, market perception and consumer trends.
  • Leading a team across multiple locations to deliver social media, PR, web development, graphic design, photography and videography in line with brand guidelines and growth aspirations, with oversight on all outputs.
  • Develop automation through Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Commercially focused through monitoring and reporting, improving the team’s performance via systems, processes, goals and training. Delivering industry insight and thought leadership.
  • Forecasting and leading on strategy for paid media.
  • Providing performance channel expertise in meetings and pitches.
  • Working closely with the CEO and as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop the core performance marketing strategy.
  • Some traveling for events will be required. 


Professional requirements are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, or five (5) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years’ experience substitution must be in related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in sales.
  • Knowledge and experience in flight training preferred. Knowledge of terminology, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and prerequisites for Skyborne Airline Academy courses, as specified by FAA regulations preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a marketing function and remote staff.
  • Expert knowledge in performance marketing with a proven track record of managing global programs, across a range of marketing disciplines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts, across all levels.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to drive initiatives through and resolve obstacles/blockers effectively.
  • Positive in nature, able to both develop and get the best out of those around them.
  • Self-starter who loves taking ownership of processes and projects.
  • Strategy and planning, with the ability to demonstrate intelligent and forward-thinking approaches.
  • Highly organized, analytical and comfortable presenting at all levels.
  • Ability to think both creatively and commercially.
  • Happy to work at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Readily accepts changes and adjusts accordingly.
  • Contingent to employment, all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, along with TSA badging-if required for your role.
